March 2020 - Acto Tres - Press Pause to Play

LatinX Theatre Project was set to travel to El Paso, TX at the end of March for ReUnión rEvolución: A Latinx New Works Festival. Inevitably, those plans were eclipsed by the COVID-19 pandemic. LXTP is committed to help flatten the curve and stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community, while using creative expression to help balance anxieties during this uncertain time. So we stay at it.

Although we’ve pushed the pause on in-person workshops and some of our upcoming performance dates, we have remained focused on our newest play, Heroes and Monsters. We are looking forward to sharing some of the work soon via the world wide web. It’s actually a super appropriate place to preview the work, since the world of Heroes and Monsters takes place in URL not IRL.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s in the works:

Heroes and Monsters captures the juxtaposition between real life and the internet; making the world of a video game where you can win some or lose some, hoping to survive and continue the fight. The show will call upon themes of La Lucha, Latin American mythology, and modern superheroes and villains.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook. We’ll be sharing readings of the new work soon!
